Vernon Seefeldt
February 11, 1963 - July 25, 2013


Vernon “Vern” Drew Seefeldt, 50, of Pierre, passed away July 25, 2013 at Avera St. Mary's TCU. Visitation will be from from 6:00-7:00pm, Monday, July 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church, concluding with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at First Baptist Church.

Vern was born February 11, 1963 in Huron, SD to Roger and Sandra Seefeldt. Vern spent his youth in South Dakota and throughout the East Coast. He graduated from Clark High School in Clark, SD in 1981. He joined the national guard after high school and served for fourteen years. Vern was a hard worker who put many hours into his various positions. He served in many rolls through the years starting with working for his father at the cement plant in Clark, then the hospital in Brookings, Falcon Plastics in Brookings, Century Manufacturing in Pierre, then the State of South Dakota's Bureau of Information Technologies and the Department of Tourism. He also worked part time for Walmart in the later years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed a good game of poker, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, bowling, throwing darts, and watching Nascar. He was dedicated to his family and was always looking out for their interests. He will forever be missed by his family and friends. Grateful for having shared in his life are his father, Roger Seefeldt; brother, David Seefeldt; sister, Cheryl Seefeldt; nephews, William Otteson, Christopher Kaltenbach and Tyrel Kaltenbach; niece, Kyah Seefeldt and great nephew, Leland Seefeldt. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Seefeldt, grandparents, Vernon and Elsie Seefeldt and Samuel and Gladys Holmes.
